* Jordan National Karting Regulations - (JNKR)- 2004

The Jordan National Karting Regulations are governed by the 2004 CIK, IKR International Karting Regulations unless stated otherwise in the Jordan National Supplementary Regulations.

Terminology and definitions:
CIK -- Commission Internationale De Karting (World Karting Federation) RIK -- International Karting Regulation .

ASN -- Executive Motor Sport Council / Delegated and Authorized by The Royal Automobile Club Of Jordan (RACJ), the holder of the sporting power in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan (HKJ).

RD -- Race Director SM -- Steward/s of the meeting

The supplementary regulations for JNKR are established by the AKC having particular regulations based on the technical and economic criteria particular to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan (HKJ).

Jordan Karting Championship (JKC)

Rules and regulations

he Jordan Karting Championship (JKC) is governed by the Jordan National Karting Regulations (JNKR) and shall be based on the FMK group 2, Intercontinental A class (ICA) and the following JKC supplementary regulations.

1. Officials

2. Championship
The championship calendar is shown in appendix 3 and the ASN shall announce any changes to the calendar.

The Championship shall constitute of 6 race results of the year.

The FMK Intercontinental-A (ICA) rules and regulations shall generally be applied unless stated otherwise in the ASN Rules and Regulations.

Participation shall be open to Jordanian nationals and non-Jordanian residents holding a valid Karting license issued by the RACJ, and having passed the driving and regulation test arranged with the AKC, with a minimum age of 16 years old.

Specific information for anyevent shall be posted at the RACJ bulletin board no later than 48 hrs prior to the start of the event.

Applications for participation in any event must be submitted no latter than 72 hrs prior to the timed session of the event accompanied with paid fees.

Late entry applications will be accepted 48 hours before the race with double entry fees.

Cancellation of participation in any event must be submitted at least 24 hours prior to the timed session of the event.

The races shall be held as follows:
Friday: Timed Session, Qualifying heats and final race

Note: All drivers' briefings are mandatory to all participants under the penalty of exclusion from the race.

Timed Session
All karts must run five timed laps in order to decide the starting position for all the qualifying heats.

Race

All karts shall compete in heats. The total points scored in the heats shall determine the top 14 karts, or any number the Stewards decides, to qualify for the final race, along with their respective grid positions. The heats shall consist of 12 laps each and up to 15 laps for the final race, or the number decided by the Race Director.

RaceHeats and Groups
0 Up to 25 karts

All karts shall compete in three heats. The top 14 shall qualify for the final one.

OR, Karts may be divided into two groups (at the Race Director's discretion), each group shall compete in two heats, and top 14 karts shall qualify for the final.

3. Track Rules

The track used for this championship shall be the RACJ track and any other track that the ASN may approve.

The track practice hours shall be posted at the RACJ bulletin board.

4. Technical regulations

All competitors must comply with all technical regulations. The following supp-elementary regulations shall apply:

Intercontinental A Homologated engines and Chassis Are allowed
Tyre Models and compound is open provided they adhere to the required sizes.Any homologated equipment or accessories are allowed to be used.

Scrutineering may be held after the timed practice, before the qualifying heats and after the final.

he Race Director and/or the Stewards shall have the right to order the scrutineering of all or any of the first five positions in the final and/or any other kart in the event.

Reminder The karts shall not be allowed to leave the parc-ferme unless authorized to do so by the Race Director under the penalty of exclusion from the event.

The ASN reserves the rights to amend any or all championship regulations, postpone, cancel, or add events, as it deems necessary.

5. Teams
Teams can be formed consisting of 2 drivers from different groups. (Drivers will be classified into groups of 5 drivers according to 2003 championship standing. Each team may select one driver from each of the groups).

This is not to be confused with sponsorship, where a sponsor can sponsor any number of drivers for any group.

6. Warnings and penalties
Any driver who does not comply with all safety regulations, safety discipline, track rules, championship regulations and any regulations or instructions of the officials of the meeting, shall inflict upon himself/herself warnings and penalties that can lead to fines, exclusion from races and suspension of license.Offenders will be issued warnings as follows:
1. Verbal warning
2. Written warning with penalty
Penalties include but are not limited to:
• Penalty points during heats
• Starting a race at the back of the grid
• Deduction or cancellation of championship points
• Disqualification from races
• Suspension of license
• Fines

RaceThe above-mentioned guidelines will generally be followed and are subject to the Race Director and the Stewards' discretion.
7. Protests
Protests, within ten minutes from declaring (announcing) the results, shall be submitted to the Race Director as in the FMIK Championship regulations and must be accompanied by a fee of JD2O.-

RaceThe Steward/s' decisions maybe appealed to the Motor Sport Court of Appeal after paying a JD250 fee.
