1— Name of Club:

The name of the Club, which is a non-profit entity of the Royal Automobile Club chartered in Amman, Jordan, is the Classic Car Club.

2-Capitalization:

The Club will be capitalized by the Royal Automobile Club.

3-Mission:

The mission for which this Club is founded is:To Promote awareness of classic cars in Historical/Social context

4—Duties of the Classic Car Club:

A--Define what is a Classic Car under Jordanian law:

A car is defined as a classic if it is over 30 years old and fits the following criteria:

i—If it has international clubs recognizing it as historically significant in design and performance.

ii—If it is produced in much less numbers than the usual full-production versions. ( For example: Renault R8 Gordini is a Classic, the regular R8's aren't. A Mercedes Benz 190 SL is, a 190 4-door isn't. )

iii—If it is in good running condition.

iv—If it is authentic: It's original design has to be unaltered. Whether restored or original, the car should have its correct engine, suspension, bodywork, and interior. Any restoration or repair should have been done to correct original standards.

Accepted modifications: Change of colour is accepted. Updated tyres, seat belts, and safety equipment are accepted modifications. A modified engine of the original specifications is accepted if such modifications were available at time of production or era of use.

B—Assist Customs Dept. if such car is authorized to enter the country as defined.
A Classic Club panel will confirm and accept each potential entry solely based on the above requirements. This panel will meet with the Customs officials and set up the system of confirmation. Only the panel, with back up material from European societies has the right to determine each candidate for importation. To resolve any questions, the panel will return to the European standards that govern Classic Car ownership
C—Parts and service advisory:

The Club will function as an advisory panel to educate, source parts, and assist in all kinds of classic automotive related matters.

D—Promote the Heritage of the Country :

The Club will work to show the progression of Jordan since the advent of the motorcar, the social political/ economic implications of the highway system, explain the beginning of the early caravan routes. The Club will promote Jordan by coordinating Classic Car tours in the country with the various agencies and organizations.

E—Automotive History Education.
The Club will also sponsor discussion evenings, playing historical movies, education on the progression of automotive design and manufacturing, etc


F—Road Safety education: The members will join, organize, and lead efforts as well as use their cars in promoting road safety and educate on driving responsibility.

G—Charitable/social contribution:
Use the available classic cars as promotional tools for charities for their exposure

5-- Club Emblem:

The Club shall have a Club Emblem as designed by the RAC.

6-Responsibilities and Authority:

The “Founding Members” shall be the final authority on all matters pertaining to the Club. T he “Founding Members” may, from time to time, establish guidelines, responsibilities and authority limitations for Officers of the Club.

7— Elected officials:

a--Membership in the Club will include:
- Director
- Treasurer
- Club Secretary
- Promotion/Public Relations
- Technical representative
- Member
- Member

b--The director of the Club shall be the chief executive officer and shall perform the duties usual to that office.
c--Term of Office: The director shall be elected for a two-year term, and shall be eligible for re-election once, or for two consecutive terms. He may not again be eligible for this office.
d--Terms of Officers: The President, the Secretary, and the Treasurer of the Club may be elected for a one-year term and shall be eligible for re-election 5 times.

8--Membership:

Regular (without a classic car) w/family 25 JD Non voting*
Associate member, (persons who reside outside the Kingdom.) 10JD Non Voting
Corporate 100JD Non voting*
Other types of membership may be provided by the “Founding Members” from time to time according to the best interest of the Club.
b— Eligibility:
Membership of the Classic Car Club is a privilege and not a right. Membership in the Club shall be open throughout the world to any person who has an interest in fine automobiles, and/or driving tours of Jordan. In order to obtain membership of the Club the applicant must have completed 18 (eighteen) years of age and must fulfil all required conditions and agree to abide by the Club Constitution and Statutes and pay the prescribed fees and subscriptions upon approval of the application .

c— Specific requirement for membership:
i—to become a member, Ownership of a classic car is not a must, but interest in such cars is.
ii—prospective members need to be nominated by two current members to be able to join.
iii-- Prospective members shall apply to the Membership Club for membership through the submission of an official application form. A membership panel will study the applicant's request and will decide based on his interest in pursuing the membership's guideline. The membership candidate should be notified within two weeks of the Membership Club's decision.
iv-- Honorary Membership: Honorary memberships in the Club shall be conferred upon those individuals who by their interests, example and/or their actions have rendered great service to the Club. Honorary members shall exercise all the rights and privileges of regular membership in addition to their ability to vote, and shall not be required to pay dues.
v—All members will automatically become members of The Royal Automobile Museum “Friends of the Museum ” program and will be able to share and join in all museum's activities. *Part of the membership proceeds will go to the Friends of the Museum Program at the Royal Automobile Museum.
vi—Voting Rights: Only active and honorary members have voting privileges.
vii—The owner of a classic car that is already imported in the country but does not conform to above standards, will join on a temporary basis and has one year to improve the condition of his car before allowed membership as an active member. The car in question will not join international or visiting tours.

9— Expulsion:

Any member whose conduct is judged not to be in keeping with the stated goals or the reputation of the Club or whose conduct is judged to be harmful to the interests of the Club may be expelled from the Club. Dangerous driving in any event is cause for expulsion. All members will act in accordance and abide by Jordanian law.

10—Use of the RAC register and mailing list:

The RAC Directory and Register will be loaned, or used as a whole or in part as a basis or mailing list to encourage membership.

11-Endorsements:

Commercial products or enterprises may be endorsed, and the Club name be used for any such endorsement as long as such endorsement lends a charitable and beneficial result to a cause or to the country in general.

12—Disputes or ambiguity:

Over and above the above rules , the Club will follow The rules and regulations of the Royal Automobile Club in case of any disputes, omissions, or ambiguity.
